What a truly unforgettable Saturday it was as we welcomed Amie & Pete, now Mr & Mrs Clarke, to The Limes Country Lodge for their beautiful summer wedding reception. The sunshine couldn’t have been more perfect, creating the most idyllic backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The celebrations began with Amie and her bridal party leaving The Limes in style, travelling to Kings Norton Church in elegant wedding cars supplied by Brooks Bridal Cars. While the happy couple exchanged their vows, our team remained behind the scenes at The Limes, ensuring every last detail was perfectly in place and ready to welcome everyone back for their reception.
A Stunning Summer Reception
As guests arrived back at The Limes, they were greeted with a relaxed drinks reception featuring chilled Prosecco and bottled beers, allowing everyone to enjoy the glorious sunshine before the celebrations continued. Amie and Pete had carefully considered every detail of their day to ensure guests of all ages had an amazing experience. Their wedding welcomed 74 daytime guests, with celebrations growing to 135 evening guests, creating a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish. A huge thank you also goes to the talented team at Lens of Lights. Photographer Brandon and videographer Adriana were an absolute pleasure to work alongside throughout the day. They captured every special moment effortlessly, from the excitement of the morning preparations to the unforgettable celebrations on the dancefloor. We can’t wait to see the beautiful memories they’ve created for Amie and Pete to treasure for years to come. The stunning floral arrangements by Danni’s Flowers provided the perfect finishing touch, adding elegance and colour throughout the venue. Amie’s bridal look was completed beautifully by AP Beauty Studios, who created flawless hair and make-up for both the bride and her bridal party. The elegant styling perfectly complemented the relaxed summer feel of the day, ensuring everyone looked and felt their absolute best from the morning preparations through to the evening celebrations.
Beautiful Sage Green Styling
The reception marquee looked absolutely breathtaking, dressed in one of our most requested colour palettes: sage green and white. Our wonderful recommended supplier, Claire from Perfect Moments, transformed the space with elegant styling, including a sparkling backdrop curtain. The fresh sage green décor looked incredible against the bright summer sunshine, creating a timeless and romantic setting. The white LED dancefloor, supplied by Vibe Entertainment, completed this fresh and popular colour scheme beautifully. The Limes also provided:

Together, these finishing touches created a truly magical setting for the newlyweds and their guests.

One of the things we loved most about Amie and Pete’s wedding was the thought they put into making every guest feel special. Guests were welcomed with:

Incredible Entertainment Throughout the Day
The entertainment began from the moment guests returned to The Limes. The incredibly talented Alexandra Darby provided the perfect soundtrack throughout the afternoon, performing during the drinks reception, wedding breakfast, and speeches. Her stunning vocals created the perfect balance between relaxed elegance and a lively party atmosphere. For younger guests, a bouncy castle supplied by LCE proved to be a huge hit, keeping children entertained for hours while parents relaxed and enjoyed the celebrations. Meanwhile, the Tailored Events Photobooth, situated beneath our Wedding Lodge, gave guests plenty of opportunities to capture fun memories throughout the day.
A Feast for Everyone
Our kitchen team served one of our most popular summer wedding menus, a delicious Summer BBQ Wedding Breakfast, which is always a favourite for relaxed summer celebrations. As evening guests arrived, everyone enjoyed generous pizza platters, keeping the party fuelled well into the night. The wedding cake, lovingly created by a family member, added another wonderful personal touch to the day. To finish, guests enjoyed our ever-popular Limes Candy Cart, filled with the couple’s own selection of sweets, doughnuts, and crisps, something that guests of all ages simply couldn’t resist.
Speeches Full of Emotion
The speeches were one of the highlights of the afternoon. Family and friends who had travelled from near and far shared heartfelt stories, laughter, and plenty of happy tears, making this a truly memorable part of the celebration.
Dancing the Night Away
As evening fell, DJ Mikey B took over and kept the dancefloor packed from the very first song until the very last. The standout moment of the evening had to be Amie and Pete’s incredible first dance, inspired by the iconic Dirty Dancing. Not only did they wow their guests with a choreographed routine, but they even managed the famous lift, bringing the room to its feet with cheers and applause. It was a spectacular moment that nobody will ever forget.
