Near the NEC, Set in the Countryside
If you are looking for a hotel near the NEC Birmingham, The Limes Country Lodge puts you just half a mile from Junction 3 of the M42, around a 15 minute drive from the NEC itself. We offer a quieter, more comfortable alternative to staying directly on the exhibition site, set in six acres of rural grounds in Earlswood, on the edge of Solihull.
Whether you are exhibiting, visiting a show, attending a concert or event, or travelling for business nearby, our rooms give you somewhere restful to return to at the end of a long day, without the noise, queues or premium pricing of an on-site hotel.
Getting to the NEC from The Limes
We sit just half a mile from Junction 3 of the M42, around a 15 minute drive from Junction 6 for the NEC, Birmingham Airport, Resorts World and the National Motorcycle Museum. You are close enough for an easy journey in either direction, while still having somewhere genuinely quiet to come back to.
Free on-site parking is available for guests, so there is no need to budget separately for NEC exhibition parking or airport parking on top of your room.
Why stay off-site
at The Limes
Hotels directly on the NEC campus are convenient, but they come at a premium during major shows, and can feel busy and impersonal when the exhibition halls are full. The Limes offers an alternative just a few minutes further out: six acres of quiet rural grounds, a proper restaurant and bar, and a genuinely restful night’s sleep, without losing the easy motorway access that makes staying near the NEC worthwhile in the first place.
HOW WE HELP
Exhibiting at the NEC
If you are working a stand over several days, staying off-site at The Limes rather than in one of the hotels immediately on the NEC campus is often both quieter and better value, without adding meaningfully to your journey time. We are used to accommodating exhibitor teams and event crews travelling to the same show together, and can help with room availability across your team’s dates.
Breakfast is served from 7am to 9am Monday to Friday, and 8:30am to 10am on Saturday and Sunday. In the evening, our restaurant and bar mean there is no need to head back out after a long day on the stand.
Visiting a show, concert or event
The NEC campus covers exhibitions, shows and events at the NEC itself as well as concerts and entertainment at Resorts World and motoring history at the National Motorcycle Museum. Staying with us puts you a short drive from all of it, with the option of a proper night’s sleep in the countryside rather than a city centre hotel room, before heading home or on to the next part of your trip.
Business travellers and conferences
Solihull and the NEC corridor is one of the busiest business destinations in the West Midlands, and The Limes is positioned to serve it without the noise and traffic of an on-site hotel. If your visit combines travel with a meeting or conference of your own, our own conference and meeting facilities are available on-site, so you can keep the whole trip in one place.
Combining business with a longer stay
Plenty of guests visiting the NEC for work extend their trip either side of a show or conference, whether that is arriving the evening before to avoid an early morning drive, or staying on afterwards to explore the Solihull and Warwickshire countryside. Our team is happy to help put together a longer stay around your NEC dates, including dinner or afternoon tea alongside your room.
Our rooms
We offer a range of room types to suit different stays, from Standard Double rooms for a straightforward overnight stop, through to our Deluxe Double and Superior Twin rooms, and our Superior Suite for a more spacious stay. Rooms are available on a room-only, bed and breakfast, or dinner, bed and breakfast basis, so you can build a stay that suits your schedule around your time at the NEC.
Getting here
The Limes is easiest reached via Junction 3 of the M42, whichever direction you are travelling from. If you are coming from the NEC itself, simply follow the M42 south to Junction 3 and follow signs for Earlswood. Full directions and postcode details are available on our contact page, and our team is happy to talk you through the route if you are travelling from further afield.
